Airharts Holiday Visit

We love the week after Christmas, when the Airharts come to visit!

This year we headed to Ogden to the Solomon Center. Bryce and Cliff tried the indoor skydiving. The rest of us chickened out.

(words from a famous country song come to my mind...I went sky diving...) I was taking video of their flight, so there aren't many still pictures of them actually in the air.

We had a great time watching them!

No Airhart trip to Utah would be complete without the "sledding" in the backyard.

"Hey can we do this for a few more hours"?

We enjoyed celebrating New Years Eve with The Airharts, Kevin, Emili and their family, and our 'foster daughter' Melanie. We had lots of good FOOD, FUN games,FIREWORKS and good FRIENDS & FAMILY to ring in the New Year.

Happy New Year!

Grandma Allen's 80th Birthday

We had a fun time celebrating Grandma Allen's 80th birthday!

Just a quiet little family get together (only about 35 of us) with lots of good food and fun!

Loralee created a perfectly fitting song "Moms Favorite Things".. that her children and their spouses sang to her. This song, and seeing her children sing it for her, really made her smile.
"Weiner dog puppies and siamese kittens,...these are a few of moms favorite things.

Then we had a mini fashion show with some of the granddaughters modeling some of Grandma's favorite clothes through the years.

After Grandma's birthday celebration, we exchanged our Christmas gifts. What a fun day!

Song: Moms favorite things
"Weiner dog puppies, and siamese kittens,
Christmas tree hunting while wearing our mittens,
Being with family; the joy that it brings
These are a few of Mom's favorite things

Cooking and baking and kneading her bread dough
Feeding us all the great food that we do know
Listening with joy as her family sings
These are a few of Mom's favorite things

Serving in temples and D.U.P gatherings
Family vacations and trailer house campings
Rocky - bench horseback rides althrough the spring
These are a few of Mom's favorite things

When the dogs bite,
when the rolls fall,
when she's mad at Dad,
She simply remembers the joy that is found
With our family-- we're so glad."

Merry Christmas

Christmas morning seemed to come very early, especially since Santa's elfs were up all night doing a scavenger hunt for Tyler.

Johnson Family Party

December has been as busy for us as for everyone else!

Where's all that snow now?

We enjoyed our Johnson family Party. The party started with each family making candy houses/or candy trains.

Bryce was playing in the frosting.

Brian & Pam's family added a "demon snowman that was ice fishing"...we thought it was a very hilarious addition to their train.

After the candy houses, we did the nativity story intermixed with several activities.

Gift exchange

a service project and lots of other good things!

Thanks Dave & Julie for such a great party! We all agree that you need to be in charge every year.

We had a great Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for. Family is on the top of the list!

We were happy to keep the Allen Family Christmas Tree Hunt Tradition going this year. (after all that pie for Thanksgiving, you need to work it off some way...)

We found our "perfect" tree for Christmas 2010

Even though it was a little different to not have everyone join us, we enjoyed it.

Ready or not Here come the holidays!

This year, Tyler "graduated" from Trick or Treating. While he hated the idea of it, he had about 12 friends over for a party instead. (I wasn't thrilled with the party idea...I was stressing out.) We had pizza, breadsticks, pop and TONS of goodies. They played some games and we watched a movie.

We had plenty of curious boys to run to the door to greet the trick or treaters every time the doorbell rang. I cant believe I'm saying this, although I think I've been converted to Halloween parties at our house... I didn't have to do much, (7th grade boys parties are much different than doing a baby shower etc) everyone had fun, Tyler was happy and we knew what the boys were up to.

We celebrated Bryce's Birthday (on Sunday) with a quiet dinner with his parents. We appreciated them driving down here to spend some time with us.

I decided I needed a little change.
However my hair only looked like this for 1 day--the day my hair dresser did it.
