Tyler's been busy!
March has been a busy month for Tyler! He did an awesome job with his piano recital, and federation. He he received a superior rating which was not an easy task.

At our court of honor, Tyler received several merit badges and his life rank advancement which he earned back in December (thanks to continual encouragement from the scout master...aka DAD.)Now he will be focusing on his Eagle project.

In woodshop, Tyler made a very cute gum ball machine. He did a great job, and had lots of fun doing it.

Keep up the great work TYLER!

A New Year=New Opportunities

A new year has brought me new opportunities to learn. (stress) I was recently released from our ward primary presidency. I must not have worked very hard because now I have 2 callings. I was called to serve as an activity day leader in our ward. I'll be working with the 8 and 9 year old girls. I've also been called as the 2nd counselor in the Stake Primary Presidency.(how did I get on THAT radar?)I was just informed that my job at the elementary school is changing and I'll be responsible for different issues--What those changes are exactly I'm not sure, but it sounds huge. I am hoping I can measure up to all that is expected of me right now. I am confident I'll be busy!
This was my first activity day project. We talked about President Hinckleys 6 B's, and I found this cute craft. (Thanks to oriental trading and sugardoodle!) While the craft doesnt match President Hinkley's 6 B's perfectly, it comes close. I think they turned out cute and the girls had a fun time!

Year End Fun (scouts)
Our Scout master (Bryce) has been "encouraging" his scouts to make a rank advancement, and if they did, they would have a year end blast at the Salomon Center. First the scouts finished their last climb for the rock climbing merit badge they needed.

Then they got to experience the Flowrider (indoor surfing) I don't know about the rest of the scouts, but the one that lives in our home, and the scout master really enjoyed it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
This past year has been spent on preparing for Bryce's surprise 50th birthday party. The way I see it, for Bryce's BIG BIRTHDAY, you should have a BIG PARTY! I wanted this party to be honoring a wonderful man living a wonderful life. I cant believe I'm married to such a wonderful person--who is now 50!

I had everything all planned out, and for several months I've been reminding our family about Saturday November 12th. About 3 weeks before the party date, Bryce got an invitation to ride motorcycles with his cousins Brian, Darrin & Kirk...on the very same date-Saturday November 12th! Of course he was planning to go since he had no idea of the party. I was feeling like a football player--, rushing to contact our family and friends about the date change, jumping here and there, trying to fake out Bryce with my comments, switch everything, intercepting every e-mail, phone call, etc. Trying to keep this a suprise for my husband was TOUGH!!!! However, I pulled it off! He was surprised!
I had made a dvd for Bryce, my first one ever. It's a good thing my family had so many scout camps this summer...I had plenty of time to practice. In my dvd, I had Bryce growing up birth to 50, then pictures of he and I, pictures of he and Tyler and our families, and of course some of the adventures. I found perfect songs with lyrics that were so fitting: A man's got to be what he's born to be, be it soon or late, he'll be small or great. What one man can do is dream, What one man can do is love,Do you see what one man can do. You're the meaning in my life, You're the inspiration. Thank you for being my dad, You raise me up to more than I can be, and I hope you had the time of your life.
To add to the surprise, The Airharts made a surprise visit to help us celebrate! What awesome friends we have! They made sure Bryce was sporting his "50th attire", and that our decorations were in place. Thanks Cliff & Gina! You are awesome

I created a Jeopardy game about Bryce. I had the categories, Adventures, Hobbies, Highlights, and Growing up. To be fair those family members (my family) who has never gone on an adventure with Bryce, or who had no idea about his growing up...I had a cheat sheet to give them some help.

Unfortunately my family needed to leave prior to the pictures being taken. Those who were there but not pictured are: My parents, Bob & Janet, my sister Lisa & her husband Dale, and her daughter Kelli, my sister in law Julie and her 4 children-Hayley, Blake, Makayla, Luke, my sister in law Emili, and the Garlick Family.
